When it comes to shooting OUR DAY weddings, B. D. Colen and his partner, Rob Schneider offer a unique service:
They provide couples with true documentary photography of their special days, producing albums that present a visual record of what actually took place, rather than a fairy tale version of a what wedding is supposed to be. Beginning the day before the wedding, one photographer follows the bride and her party, while the other attaches himself to the groom and groomsmen. They then follow a similar pattern on the wedding day.
For example, the 36 hours of coverage of Sharen and Joel's Manhattan wedding began on a Saturday afternoon, with the bride's party taking over a nail salon and the groomsmen playing pool. On the wedding day, B. D. Colen captured the preparations of Sharen and her bridesmaids, while Rob Schneider spent the day with Joel and his best man. The two photographers together shot the last minute preparations at the wedding venue, and the wedding and reception.
